In 2007 State Government of Maharashtra had recognized Sushrut Hospital ,Phaltan is the only recognized Joint replacement center for Satara district., proud moment in the history of Sushrut Hospital ,Phaltan.

In 2007 World Health Organization and London University of Health had recognized Sushrut Hospital ,Phaltan as one of the Hospital out of only twenty hospitals in India for Innovative new life saving drug trial for the patients of accidental traumatic hemorrhages. Again International recognition for Sushrut Hospitals academic excellence and world standard medical practices.

Dr.Hemant Magar who was excellent in academics since beginning who stood first in merit in ENT in Shivaji University, Kolhapur and also second in General surgery in Shivaji university in Kolhapur ,in final MBBS .All above that most prestigious and path breaking achievement of gold medal with distinction ,still the record in the university so far in MS orthopedics is concerned .

Dr.Hemant Magar who had lost his father in childhood and seen mother Shrimati Suman Magar working hard against all odds in society had made basics very right and kept in mind that medical practice ought to be only profession not to earn only money but also have great social commitment which laid him not to start the practice at the metros like Pune but to raise only comprehensive and integrated hospital in Satara district at Phaltan only. Medical college Pune ,a rare honor for any individual who seeks this recognition as salute to his academic excellence .

Having said and seen as truth behind every successful man and mission there is lady behind having great support by personality like Dr.Meera Magar who herself being “First lady surgeon of Shivaji University, Kolhapur” worked hard and done research in her post graduate studies. She always had scientific mind behind every progressive step of Sushrut hospital Phaltan.In her clinical practice of twenty five years she never remain behind of her fellow surgeons as she had completed advance GI Endoscopy training under expert guidance of Dr.Nageshwar Reddy in Asian Institute of Gastro Enterology Hyderabad in 2000.

More recently in 2004 she had completed advance Laparoscopy training fromworld renowned laparoscopy surgeon Dr.PALANI VELU. COIMBTORE.

Sushrut Hospital, is proud of Dr.Meera Magar and her surgical expertise for being the only surgeon having FMAS (Fellow of Minimal Access Surgery ) and FIAGES (Fellow Indian Association of Gastro Intestinal Surgeons ) degrees in Satara district.
